Panama is asking France to extradite Noriega

“We are evaluating an appeal for extradition from Panama to the French Government” for Noriega to be tried also for the causes that are outstanding in their country, the diplomat said. Panamanian Vice President and Foreign Minister, Juan Carlos Varela, reported this possibility to the ambassador in Paris on Monday, the same day that left the United States and Noriega was extradited to Paris, where in 1998 he was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison for laundering money.
