iPhone 4G: Just apologies from Steve Jobs

The new iPhone 4G was again discussed on a conference. The problems of the iPhone 4G are far from over. But regarding the iPhone 4G Steve Jobs said, “We’re not perfect.” Coming from someone like Steve Jobs and talking about the iPhone 4G, a man who heads a company symbol of total reliability as Apple is a little how to see the Fonz in Happy Days that pronounced I was wrong “struggling with the effort. The profession of modesty was the necessary step to which Jobs was forced to put a patch on what he christened (iPhone 4G)”. Antennagate, was the media event built around problems getting a new iPhone 4G. Serious problems according to many users and several specialized sites, can reset the “notches” of receiving (and make impossible calls and messages) when holding the iPhone 4G in a way, ironically named the U.S. “Death Grip” grip death.
A mess that is seriously damaging the image and that Apple has lost several percentage points to its stock market, fell by $ 270 dated 24 June (date of market launch of the iPhone 4G) to about 250 yesterday. And to avoid even worse consequences, as a class action potentially devastating for all, Jobs has had to face, calling a press conference at the
group in Cupertino, California, for the future of iPhone 4G. From the stage, after admitting that perfection does not exist even in the magical world of Apple, he said that until September 30 all customers will have a free mobile phone a bumper (a protective colored, now sold by Apple at $ 29) for their iPhone 4G. The box isolates the iPhone 4G antenna located on the outer perimeter of the appliance, by direct finger touch, thus avoiding the “death grip” that knocks out the antenna. And for the most dissatisfied (very few, according to Jobs, less than 1%) Apple also offers a refund of the amount disbursed for the iPhone 4G, provided that the refund is made within 30 days and that the product was not damaged in the meantime. We’ll see if the move will be enough to reassure markets and remove the stain from the curriculum of Apple. According to analysts the recall of all iPhones 4G sold (already 3 million seconds in the company) would cost 1.15 billion euros. The present iPhone 4G housing, impacts to a much lower figure of about 135 million. “Antennagate” aside, Jobs also announced the release date of the iPhone 4G simultaneously with 16 other countries. Still to communicate the price, but it was confirmed that buyers outside the U.S. will have their iPhone 4G case for free, at least by the end of September. The move of the free iPhone 4G bumper confirmed however that the problem of the new iPhone 4G character is not software but hardware related to the way in which the device is made. Although Jobs
has branded as “nonsense” the rumors, spread by the agency Bloomberg that he was aware of the possible defects of the iPhone 4G antenna before the marketing of the phone, and had deliberately ignored or overlooked the matter. “It’s a bitch …- said the guru Steve – and I challenge those who have put about to prove it.” Meanwhile, the challenge of Google and its Android smartphone to the throne is becoming more aggressive: just two days ago in the United States arrived in stores the new Motorola Droid X, a super-phone equipped with the system of Big G, with a 4.3-inch screen well against the iPhone 3.5 4. All stocks go in and immediately sold out until July 23 will not be back on the shelves. In the fall debut but the news of Nokia (with powerful new mobile operating systems Symbian basasti ^ 3 and Meego) and Microsoft ready to launch its Windows 7 Phone and to take advantage of defaillance reception “smartphone. “Apple iPhone 4 could be what Vista was for us,” he said with a grin Kevin Turner, chief executive of Microsoft.

Poor article! I really like the iPhone 4G.
The new iPhone 4G is the smartphone that I really wanted to buy. But I think Apple hurried with the launch of the new iPhone and that probably because of the leak provoked by Gary Powell.
Well I agree that the new iPhone 4G is not ready to be sold yet.. I hope Apple will find a good solution for this
No.. I will still buy an iPhone 4G, and I will just hope that the bumper is the fix
Still thinking up upgrading from my 3G to the new 4G, but I guess I will look at others as well. I have always used apple products, but have been stuck with a couple of lemons. The Mac Lc.
I am waiting for the ipad, with the 4G phone combined.
Putting a band-aid around a high end product in order to make it work is a flawed solution and not acceptable. Im highly dissapointed with Apple. I love my iPhone 3G, and had hoped to upgrade to the 4G when my contract runs out in a couple of months, but unless Apple fixes the issue at a hardware level I will be looking elsewhere.
No issues for me yet. I bought mine just about a week ago, and am perfectly happy with it. I’ve experienced no dropped calls, no “death grip” issues, and no proximity sensor issues.
Poor Chris. You just love the iPhone 4G even it is not working well.
Hi Steve,
I like the comments you have made, on Black Berry Bold-9700, and i’m in agreement with you on this as i feel the BOLD 9700 which i am using is a total disaster when it comes to ANTENNA PROBLEMS.
My BOLD 9700 phone gets cutoff from the conversation if i just shake my shoulder.
Just for Info, it is best to use A Hands free Blue Tooth devise and keep the phone stable, if you do not want disconnections during conversations.
Anyways let the research continue.
GOOD LUCK
The iPhone is like the Yankees… everyone loves to hate the best team and pick it apart. In no way is the 4G anything close to the Vista issues. Macs overall outperform any PC… the comparison of Vista to a troublesome antenna on the 4G is ludacris.
For what it’s worth, I’ve had the 4g for about a month( since the Ca. Release) I have a case on mine and have no problems, I’ve even taken it off and tried the death grip and had no problems. Maybe I’m just lucky but I’d definitely recommend this phone.
My new 4 is much nicer than my old 3G. Yes I can lower reception holding it a certain way. Yes it should have had a protective coat to minimize the issue, and that left wanting, yes, a free bumper is the right thing for Apple to do.
I drop less calls and am pleased with improved performance. As an ealy Vista 64 adopter, I can truthfuly say this is not the same thing. Vista sucked. The iPhone 4 despite a flaw has been fantastic.
I love my new iPhone 4G, bought a few weeks after the launch I have not experienced any problems. Holds better signal strength then the iPhone 3Gs and I love the HD video, SMS, 5 Megapixel camera, itunes etc.
I think this is an easy fix. At this point apple needs to save face instead of racing Microsoft for a min. They are so deep in revenue anyway right. If they recall it will sting but they will recover and get to play again later. Hell they could even start making brand new models with built in thin casing (bumpers) saving the original design while only adding a fraction of girth and weight to the current model. Afterwards keeping the old models as possible temporary inventory used for replacement phones or lenders until purchased models are repaired. They don’t have to be discarded.
The new IPhone 4g works great for me since June 23 with no problems @ all. I’ve had other smart phones so far this is the best.
this article is bad.how the hell was this allowed to be posted?
Well who buys a Iphone, and doesn’t get a case to protect their investment, therefore we could complain all we want about Apple 4G antenna issues but it would be a dumb choice not to get a case for your iphone anyways because it helps prevent scuffs, scratches and accidental drops
The iPhone4 is very nice, after reading these complaints and skeptics I cannot help but chuckle. Look down at your phones, whatever they are, look at it, 95% of you haters have cases on your phones!! WTF people? Get over it! BTW, I don’t have any reception problems w/o a case but will get one anyway, as I do for all my phones, to protect it from the elements! Most of this crap is just hyping up an inferior android phone. Yes, I said Inferior! It doesn’t matter how much horse power a phone has if it’s not user friendly. The iPhone will stay #1 for some time, absolutely awesome phone!!
I wonder if this issue inspired in any way the new phones which just came out which go silent when you flip them over?
